Scion of Gwalior Royal Family, Mahanaryaman Scindia, Shuns Politics for Cricket
27-year-old Mahanaryaman Scindia has no plans to join politics at the moment. Instead, he is working towards starting a cricket league and believes that significant societal changes can be brought about without entering the political fray.
The Gwalior royal lineage is not only known for its political prowess but also for its contribution to the field of sports. Mahanaryaman Scindia, son of Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, has recently made headlines by stating that he has no immediate plans to join politics. The 27-year-old scion of the Gwalior royal family expressed his interest in starting a cricket league instead.
Politics as a Medium for Change

Mahanaryaman acknowledges the power and influence that politics holds in bringing about societal change. However, he firmly believes that it's not necessary to be a part of the political sphere to make an impact. He stated, "Politics certainly is a medium to bring change in society, but right now I have no plans to enter politics." This statement was made during an interview on Sunday.
He further emphasized his point by citing the example of Mahatma Gandhi who initiated non-political revolutions both in South Africa and India single-handedly. His father currently serves as the Union Civil Aviation Minister.
Avoiding Speculations About Future Political Career
There have been speculations about him following his father’s footsteps into politics with many supporters hoping that he would one day become the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh. On this topic, Scindia said: "It is everyone’s right to have expectations. But I would not like to discuss this topic right now. We are only focusing on our work at the moment." It seems clear from these statements that Mahanaryaman wants to carve out his own path rather than just follow familial traditions blindly.
Fostering Sports Talent Through Cricket League
Mahanaryaman Scindia holds prominent positions within cricket associations in Madhya Pradesh - Vice President of the Gwalior Division Cricket Association and a member of the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA). He shared that he is currently working on a plan to start a cricket league with an aim to encourage sports talent in the region.
This initiative by Scindia signifies his commitment towards fostering local talent and promoting sports as an integral part of society. It also reflects his belief in creating change outside the realm of politics.
In conclusion, while Mahanaryaman Scindia acknowledges the power of politics as a medium for societal change, he has chosen to focus on nurturing sporting talent through his proposed cricket league. His decision not only shows his passion for sport but also underlines his conviction that one can contribute meaningfully to society without necessarily being involved in politics. This approach may inspire many young people who wish to make an impact in their communities without entering political fray.
