Mahakumbh: 'Harry Potter' Spotted Savouring Bhandara, Netizens Bewitched By This Daniel Radcliffe Doppelganger

Foreign tourists from across the globe have gathered at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. A video of a man resembling the fictional character Harry Potter has gone viral on social media.

In the undated clip, a man dressed in jeans and a puffer jacket is seen casually enjoying 'prasad' from a disposable plate. The video has sparked curiosity among netizens, with many speculating whether actor Daniel Radcliffe was indeed attending the religious event.

One user asked, "Ye Daniel Radcliffe to nahi hai na?" while another remarked, "Mujhe q lg rha h ye Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter hai."

Other comments included, "Harry Potter prasad ka aanand lete hue," and "Bhai Harry Potter jaisa dikh raha hai (sic)." Another user noted, "This is beauty of Sanatan Dharma," while one joked, "Harry Potter in Kumbh Mela." Some even quipped, "Harry Potter jhadu se ud kr agya."

Harry Potter is a fictional character created by British author J.K. Rowling in a series of books later adapted into a popular film franchise. In the films, British actor Daniel Radcliffe portrayed the iconic role.

From January 11 to January 20, approximately 8.79 crore pilgrims have taken the holy dip at Sangam. The Maha Kumbh Mela officially commenced on January 13 with the Paush Purnima bath, although devotees began arriving as early as January 11.

The 2025 Maha Kumbh Mela will conclude on February 26. This event is particularly significant as it marks the completion of 12 Kumbh Mela cycles, occurring once every 144 years. The last Maha Kumbh of this kind took place in 1881.

More than 45 crore people are anticipated to attend this grand event. To accommodate the influx of pilgrims, authorities have created a temporary city spread over 4,000 hectares. This city includes 1.5 lakh tents, upgraded sanitation facilities, and improved transportation infrastructure.
