Significance of Mauni Amavasya

Mauni Amavasya is a day when people observe silence and offer tarpan to their ancestors. This practice is believed to bring peace to the souls of ancestors and eliminate Pitra Dosha. With ancestral blessings, individuals find success in their endeavours, leading to happiness and prosperity.

The auspicious time for the Amrit Snan on 29 January 2025 begins at 5:25 am and ends at 6:18 am. Additionally, there is an evening Muhurta from 5:51 pm to 7:11 pm. Bathing in Triveni during these times is considered highly virtuous.

Astrological Significance

This year, Mauni Amavasya coincides with a rare astrological event. Moon, Mercury, and Sun form Triveni Yoga in Capricorn, creating a unique alignment. According to Jyotishacharya, this celestial occurrence enhances the spiritual significance of the day.

The second Amrit Snan of Maha Kumbh also takes place on Mauni Amavasya. This day holds special importance for Pitra Tarpan and donations. Devotees believe that performing these rituals on this day brings immense spiritual benefits.

The Hindu calendar marks the start of Magh month's Amavasya at 7:32 pm on January 28, lasting until 6:05 pm on January 29. The sacred bath timings are crucial for those seeking spiritual merit through bathing in Triveni.
