Mahakumbh 2025: 97.3 Million Pilgrims Experience Sacred Dip at Sangam in First 11 Days

In just 11 days of the Mahakumbh, over 97.3 million devotees, Kalpavasis, and revered seers have bathed in the sacred waters of the Triveni Sangam.

With this remarkable turnout, the total number of participants is expected to reach the 100 million mark by the end of today, the 11th day of the festival.

According to the Uttar Pradesh government's data, as of Thursday, over 16.98 lakh people have taken the holy dip in the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mystical Saraswati.

The state government estimates that more than 45 crore people will attend the Maha Kumbh this year, as per an official statement.

Among the vast sea of visitors, several 'babas' have made their mark, especially those with unique identities. One notable individual is Rajpal Singh, affectionately referred to as 'Pahalwan Baba,' who is dedicated to inspiring the youth. His presence at the event harmoniously merges spirituality with a push for healthier living.

"My mission is to energize the youth, eradicate drug use, promote health, and establish India as a global leader. At 50 years old, I can perform 10,000 one-handed push-ups. If I can achieve this level of dedication at my age, the youth can certainly strive for even greater feats," Rajpal Singh remarked.

Earlier on Wednesday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath participated in a sacred dip at Triveni Sangam during the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, accompanied by Deputy CMs Keshav Prasad Maurya, Brajesh Pathak, and other cabinet members. The CM was observed expressing gratitude to God during this significant spiritual occasion.

"Uttar Pradesh's Aerospace and Defence and employment policy has reached its five-year mark and will be renewed. We have introduced new incentives to attract further investment," CM Yogi announced.

Additionally, the CM revealed plans to issue municipal corporation bonds for the cities of Prayagraj, Varanasi, and Agra.

"Bonds will be introduced in these three vital municipal corporations. We have already released bonds for Lucknow and Ghaziabad, which have yielded impressive results. This initiative is crucial for enhancing the branding of our municipal corporations and supporting their growth with a fresh vision," CM Yogi noted.

Authorities are also making preparations for the upcoming Mauni Amavasya on January 29, expecting an even larger influx of devotees.
