BJP State chief Devendra Fadnavis
Mumbai, Oct, 8: It seems BJP has finally decided its candidate for the Chief Ministrial post. If voted to power, the party, according to media reports, could appoint its State president Devendra Fadnavis as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
A report in DNA says that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked party national president Amit Shah to project Fadnavis as its CM candidate.

A senior BJP leader has been quoted in the report as saying, "PM Modi has made it clear that he wants to give an opportunity to young and energetic face and Fadnavis fits in well in that frame." He further added, "Fadnavis is dynamic leader with clean image. So, BJP is slowly presenting him as a leading face in the State by putting his photos along with Modi's in the posters and advertisements."

Around 72 GPS vans (video raths) having pictures of PM Modi and Fadnavis have been dispatched, these vans will travel across the State, and will disseminate ideas and policies of the party among the people.

Elaborating on the issue, BJP spokesperson Devendra Bhandari said that the party has not yet finalised the name for CM candidate. He further said number of names are doing rounds but final call will be taken by party's central leadership at an appropriate time.
