Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Welcomes Pilgrims for Mauni Amavasya at Maha Kumbh
On Tuesday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended his warm greetings to the saints, seers, and devotees arriving for the Maha Kumbh. This event coincides with the Amrit Snan on Mauni Amavasya, expected to draw a large number of pilgrims on Wednesday. In a post on X, he expressed his wishes in Hindi, saying, "Congratulations to all the revered saints, sadhaks and devotees participating in the Mahavrat of Mauni Amavasya."

The Chief Minister further conveyed his heartfelt greetings to those seeking spiritual merit through the Amrit Snan at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj. He wished for the blessings of Maa Ganga and Lord Bhaskar to be upon everyone. "All countrymen should remain united, this is my prayer," he added.
Triveni Yog: A Rare Celestial Event
This year's Amrit Snan on Mauni Amavasya is particularly significant due to a rare celestial alignment known as Triveni Yog. Occurring after 144 years, this alignment enhances the spiritual importance of the day. Astrologers note that Triveni Yog began at 2.35 pm on Tuesday and will continue until 7.25 am on February 8.
During this period, bathing in the sacred Triveni Sangam is believed to confer virtues comparable to performing a Sahastra Vajpayee Yagya or a hundred Ashvamedha Yagyas. The Uttar Pradesh government highlighted this in a statement, emphasizing the spiritual benefits associated with this rare alignment.
Spiritual Significance of Mauni Amavasya
Religious texts describe bathing in the Sangam on Mauni Amavasya as Mokshadayak, which means granting liberation. The statement from the government explained that the Triveni Yog occurs due to the alignment of the sun, moon, and Mercury in Capricorn, with Jupiter casting its ninth aspect.
The Maha Kumbh's most important ritual, the Amrit Snan on Mauni Amavasya, is set for Wednesday. This auspicious occasion draws countless devotees seeking spiritual purification and blessings.
The convergence of these celestial bodies during Triveni Yog amplifies the spiritual experience for those participating in the holy bath at Triveni Sangam. This unique event offers an opportunity for devotees to attain significant spiritual merit.
The Maha Kumbh continues to be a focal point for spiritual gatherings and rituals, attracting people from across India and beyond. As pilgrims gather for this sacred event, they partake in rituals that have been revered for centuries.
