Maha Kumbh Mela 2025: UP CM Yogi Adityanath Takes Holy Dip In Triveni Sangam

After holding a Cabinet meeting in Prayagraj on Wednesday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, accompanied by 54 Cabinet ministers, boarded a special boat and took a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam during the ongoing Maha Kumbh 2025, as reported by ANI.

The Uttar Pradesh CM, along with Deputy CMs Keshav Prasad Maurya, Brajesh Pathak, and other Cabinet ministers, also offered prayers at the Triveni Sangam. The event is part of the spiritual rituals of the grand Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj.

According to an official release, all 54 ministers of the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet were invited to the meeting, where several important proposals and schemes for the state were expected to be discussed and approved.

"To create sustainable development for Prayagraj and surrounding areas, we will develop a development region... For its infrastructure, an extension of the Ganga Expressway would be provided. The Ganga Expressway will connect Prayagraj to Mirzapur, Bhadohi, Kashi, Chandauli, and link to the Purvanchal Expressway in Ghazipur," Yogi Adityanath shared with the media after the meeting.

Originally planned to be held at the Mela Authority Auditorium, the meeting venue was shifted to the Triveni Sankul in Arail to avoid inconvenience to the pilgrims visiting the Sangam due to the VIP security arrangements. The ministers traveled from Arail VIP Ghat to the Sangam by motorboats, where they performed worship rituals and took the holy dip.

This marks the second time that Yogi Adityanath has led his Cabinet to the Sangam. In 2019, Yogi took part in a similar ceremonial dip alongside his ministers, Akhada Parishad President Narendra Giri, and other prominent saints during the Kumbh Mela.

PM Modi May Visit Mahakumbh on 5 February:

Reports indicate that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit the Maha Kumbh on 5 February. He is likely to take a holy dip in the Ganga, perform aarti, and offer prayers. He may also visit Akshayvat, Saraswati Koop, and Bade Hanuman Mandir for further prayers.

Additionally, PM Modi is expected to honor the workforce responsible for ensuring the success and grandeur of the Maha Kumbh.
