Event Details and Preparations

Scheduled every 12 years, the Maha Kumbh will occur in Prayagraj from January 13 to February 26. Gupta highlighted the government's efforts to ensure the event's success, describing it as a divine representation of "Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat, Samaveshi Bharat" (One India, Great India, Inclusive India). The event will be held under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Gupta emphasised that the Maha Kumbh will be clean, safe, and digital. An eco-friendly approach has been adopted by banning single-use plastics. Health and hygiene are prioritised with specialist doctors deployed and a 100-bed hospital established at the Parade Ground. Additional facilities include two 20-bed hospitals and smaller units with eight beds each.

Infrastructure and Technological Advancements

The Army Hospital has set up two 10-bed ICUs in the Mela area. Separate wards for men, women, and children have been arranged, complete with delivery rooms and emergency wards. Nine new ghats have been built in Mahakumbh Nagar for bathing, adding to the existing 35 ghats.

Technological advancements are integral to the preparations. A dedicated website and mobile app have been launched alongside an AI-powered chatbot available in 11 languages. QR-based passes for visitors and vehicles will enhance security. A multilingual digital lost-and-found centre will assist attendees.

Ensuring Safety and Accessibility

ICT monitoring will ensure cleanliness throughout the event. Drone-based surveillance will aid disaster management efforts. An inventory tracking system is in place, with all locations integrated on Google Maps for easy navigation. These measures aim to provide a seamless experience for all pilgrims attending the Maha Kumbh.

The Uttar Pradesh government is committed to making this Maha Kumbh a memorable event that reflects India's rich cultural heritage. With extensive preparations underway, it promises to be a significant gathering of spiritual significance on the holy land of Prayagraj after 12 years.
