Maha Kumbh Sees Record 5 Crore Devotees Taking Holy Dip at Sangam
The Triveni Sangam experienced a remarkable influx of devotees on Tuesday, just before the Mauni Amavasya Amrit Snan. Around five crore people took a holy dip, marking the largest single-day gathering in the ongoing Maha Kumbh. According to the Uttar Pradesh government, nearly 20 crore individuals have already participated in the sacred ritual at the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers.

By Tuesday evening, 4.83 crore devotees had completed their ritual bath, setting a new record. Previously, over three crore people had taken the holy dip on Sunday and Monday combined. The government expects 10 crore participants on Mauni Amavasya alone and anticipates a total of over 45 crore attendees throughout the Maha Kumbh.
Record-Breaking Attendance at Maha Kumbh
Earlier festival data shows significant participation: 3.5 crore on Makar Sankranti, 1.7 crore on Paush Purnima, 1.74 crore on Sunday, and 1.55 crore on Monday. Among those present were 10 lakh kalpvasis, along with devotees and saints from India and abroad.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conveyed his greetings to devotees nationwide on Mauni Amavasya's eve. On social media platform X, he expressed: "Heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all revered saints, devotees and pilgrims participating in the great festival of Sanatan Dharma, Maha Kumbh 2025, on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya."
"My warm regards to the kalpvasis, saints and devotees who have come to Prayagraj for the divine, grand, and digital Maha Kumbh 2025 to attain the supreme purity of Amrit Snan. May the blessings of Mother Ganga and Lord Bhaskar remain with you all. I pray for unity among all countrymen."
The anticipation for Mauni Amavasya is high as it promises to draw an even larger crowd. The event continues to attract millions seeking spiritual cleansing and blessings at this significant religious gathering.
