In a bid to offer a unique experience, North Eastern Railway (NER) has introduced 80 specially designed Mahakumbh-themed coaches. These coaches will operate as "Mahakumbh Special Trains," providing a visually captivating journey for pilgrims heading to the spiritual event.

Special Trains from Key Regions to Ensure Smooth Pilgrimage Journeys

  1. Bengaluru to Prayagraj: South Western Railway (SWR) will operate a one-way Kumbh Mela Express from Bengaluru, departing on January 8, 2025, and reaching Prayagraj by January 10, with stops at stations such as Whitefield, Katpadi, and Vijayawada.
  2. Himachal Pradesh to Prayagraj: Special trains from Una to Prayagraj will commence on January 17, 2025. The first train will depart at 10:05 PM and reach Prayagraj by the next evening.
  3. Jaynagar to Jhusi: North Eastern Railway will operate special trains from Jaynagar to Prayagraj on select dates, including January 10, 24, and 31, with stops at stations like Madhubani, Darbhanga, and Muzaffarpur.
  4. Guntur to Azamgarh and Moula Ali to Gaya: A series of special trains will operate from these regions on specific dates, ensuring a smooth journey for pilgrims from southern and eastern India.

South Central Railway's Special Train Timetable for Kumbh Mela

South Central Railway (SCR) has announced 16 special trains for the Kumbh Mela, running throughout the 45-day festival. Here are key routes and timings:

  • Train 7701: Guntur to Azamgarh, departing on January 24 at 23:00 and arriving at 17:15 the next day.
  • Train 7702: Returns from Azamgarh to Guntur on January 26 at 19:45, reaching Guntur at 09:00 the next day.
  • Train 7707: Departs from Moula Ali to Azamgarh on January 18 and February 21, leaving at 23:55 and arriving at 17:15 the following day.

Booking tickets for the Kumbh Mela special trains is simple via the IRCTC website or app:

  1. Visit the "Trains" section on the IRCTC platform.
  2. Enter your departure and destination details.
  3. Choose your preferred train, check availability, and complete the booking.

Once booked, you'll receive an e-ticket and PNR number to easily track your reservation or check waitlist status.
