Maha: Female singer beaten up in bar

Thane (Maha), Aug 6: A female singer was allegedly beaten up by four unidentified men in a bar at Ulhasnagar in the district.

The incident took place late last night when the singer was about to leave the bar after finishing her day's job, an official attached with Ulhasnagar police station said. When other staff members rushed for her help, they were also beaten up by the accused, he said.

A cop who was in the vicinity came to help the singer and the staff, but he was also beaten up and the bar was ransacked, the official said.

A case under relevant sections of the IPC has been registered in this connection. No arrests have been made so far and investigations are underway, he added.
