Madras HC stays look out circular against Karti Chidambaram
The Madras High Court has stayed the look out circular issued against Karti Chidambaram, son of former union minister, P Chidambaram. The court granted the stay after Karti had challenged the LOC issued against him by the Central Bureau of Investigation.
The circular issued against Karti had been issued to all airports to prevent him from travelling abroad.

Claiming that the CBI issued the summons when he was abroad, Karti told the court that his counsel duly informed about my stay abroad to the CBI through a letter dated June 20.
On July 4, the CBI once again issued a summons against which I have moved the high court and the petition is still pending adjudication he had said. I was always responding to the summonses issued by the CBI and that there was no absolute cause of action for issuance of the LOC, he also said The circular is a well thought out and meticulously orchestrated fraudulent plan of the CBI to stop me at the airport as and when I proceed abroad by springing an unpleasant surprise on me and leak it to the media that I am detained at the airport and cause embarrassment to me, he also said.
The look out circular against Karti Chidambaram was issued to prevent him from leaving the country like Vijay Mallya, the CBI's counsel had told the Madras High Court.
Karti's counsel however raised objection to the submissions and asked the CBI to withdraw the same. The Madras High Court directed the CBI to serve a copy of the circular with Karti. The matter has been adjourned to August 10.
