The Madras HC on Monday adjourned hearing on individual writ petitions filed by 18 disqualified MLAs backed by TTV Dinakaran to 2nd November.

Last week, the high court continued its stay on a floor test in the Tamil Nadu Assembly and holding bye-elections in the 18 seats declared vacant by the Speaker.

Last month, Tamil Nadu speaker P. Dhanapal had disqualified 18 legislators from the ruling party's dissident faction led by TTV Dinakaran, citing Article 190 of the Constitution.

Subsequently, the 18 MLAs approached the high court challenging the disqualification.
