Madras Crocodile Bank assures no crocs have escaped the premises
Chennai, Dec 3: Even as rains continue to batter the state of Tamil Nadu, the Madras Crocodile Bank (MCB) has responded to rumours and issued a statement saying that 'no crocs have escaped from their premises.'
Earlier last week, there were rumours that the crocodiles from the crocodile bank had escaped thereby triggering panic among the public.

However, soon the MCB issued a statement saying: "All our crocs are safely contained. Our staff are working round the clock to watch the animals and to prevent any such incident. Safety is our number 1 priority."
The MCB also appealed to the people not to spread any panic.
Chennai has been receiving heavy rains for the past one week and several areas are now underwater. Teams of IAF and NDRF have been carrying out rescue operations in the city. Many groups have also come forward to help people who are affected by the flood.
Union minister Rajnath Singh said on Thursday that so far 269 casualties have been reported from Tamil Nadu.
Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalithaa did an aerial survey of the damage caused by the floods today.
