Madhya Pradesh's Growing Apathy: Brutality In Broad Daylight Reflects Societal Decay

In Madhya Pradesh's Chhatarpur district, two horrifying incidents have surfaced, highlighting the disturbing rise of public apathy and societal decay. The general indifference towards human dignity, coupled with the unchecked escalation of violence, reflects a state grappling with deep-seated issues of empathy and justice.

In the first incident, a 17-year-old boy was subjected to a degrading and humiliating act of brutality in broad daylight. A video that has since gone viral shows the teenager being forced to lick the shoes of one of his assailants, followed by being kicked in the face. The assault occurred after a minor altercation during a Dussehra procession in Chhatrasal Nagar, Chhatarpur. Despite the public setting, the young boy's cries for help were ignored, and not a single person stepped forward to intervene or assist. The brazen cruelty and the apparent lack of public outrage or action speak volumes about the general apathy that has taken hold in the region.

Madhya Pradesh s Growing Apathy

In a second, equally disturbing incident, a tribal man in Chhatarpur was mercilessly beaten with belts by four individuals over a past enmity. The attack was not only brutal but also humiliating, with the assailants forcing the victim to remove his clothing. Despite the incident being captured on video and shared across social media, there has been minimal public response. The police have taken action under various legal provisions, including the SC/ST Act, but the delayed and tepid response from the community raises serious concerns about the state of social responsibility.

These incidents are symptomatic of a larger issue in Madhya Pradesh-where acts of violence, humiliation and cruelty are met with silence, and public apathy has allowed these crimes to persist unchecked.
