Madhya Pradesh Maintains Six Ministers in Modi's Latest Cabinet

The recent formation of the Narendra Modi government for its third term has seen a consistent representation from Madhya Pradesh, with six ministers retaining their positions, mirroring the composition from the previous term. Among those who have been reappointed are Narendra Singh Tomar, Prahlad Patel, Faggan Singh Kulaste, Virendra Kumar, Jyotiraditya Scindia, and Rajya Sabha member L Murugan. Notably, Murugan, while hailing from Tamil Nadu, represents Madhya Pradesh in the Rajya Sabha.

MP Keeps Six Ministers in Modi Cabinet

This term's cabinet sees the retention of Scindia, Murugan, and Virendra Kumar. New entrants include Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the state's longest-serving chief minister; Dhar MP Savitri Thakur; and Betul MP Durga Das Uikey. The induction of these members has sparked celebrations among BJP workers, particularly for Chouhan, whose inclusion has been met with jubilation outside his residence in Bhopal.

Tomar and Patel have taken on new roles within the state's governance structure following their participation in the 2023 assembly elections. Tomar has been appointed Speaker of the Madhya Pradesh government, while Patel has been made a minister. Kulaste, despite having served as a minister at the Centre four times previously, was not included in this term's list.

The BJP's state leadership has expressed gratitude towards PM Modi for the inclusion of five MPs from Madhya Pradesh in his government. State BJP chief VD Sharma highlighted the national significance of this move. Celebrations were not limited to Chouhan's supporters; kin and backers of Savitri Thakur also celebrated her induction into the cabinet.

Anil Agrawal Lily voiced optimism regarding Modi's third term as Prime Minister and Chouhan's experience contributing significantly to the country's governance. Similarly, BJP MLA Mukesh Tandon led celebrations for Chouhan's appointment as a Union minister, reflecting widespread support within the party for the newly formed government.

The consistent representation of Madhya Pradesh in the Modi government underscores the state's importance on the national political landscape. With seasoned politicians and fresh faces alike, the cabinet is poised to leverage its collective experience for India's development. The enthusiasm among BJP workers and supporters signals a hopeful outlook for the term ahead.
