According to the doctors quoted in the article, the girl's private parts suffered grievous injuries, necessitating a complicated surgery to repair the affected areas.

The Incident

The assault is said to have taken place on February 22 when the girl's 17-and-a-half-year-old neighbour, allegedly drunk at the time, enticed her from the rooftop of her home to a nearby abandoned house.

At this deserted location, the teenager reportedly sexually assaulted her and repeatedly smashed her head against a wall, according to the Times of India.

The girl was discovered unconscious, but shared the ordeal after gaining consciousness. She said that the accused carried her in his arms and did "terrible things".

Family Demands Harsh Punishment

The victim's family has called for the accused to face severe justice, insisting he should either be hanged or "shot at the crossroads", the report stated. It added that the five-year-old was seen by her younger brother and other children, who also spotted the accused.

The suspect allegedly ran off when he heard the children screaming, abandoning the girl in the derelict house. Her parents found her lying in a pool of blood after searching for two hours.

Police have arrested the accused, who is being treated as a juvenile offender, the report noted.

The incident sparked outrage, leading to a demonstration on Monday when members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress, and local residents gathered at the Shivpuri Collectorate.

The protesters handed over a memorandum to the collector and superintendent of police, urging that the death penalty be imposed on the accused.

Doctors Trying Their Best to Save Girl

Medics at Kamla Raja Hospital, who carried out emergency surgery, said the girl arrived in a critical state, leaving them with little hope she would pull through.

Despite this, the doctors have reportedly managed to stabilise her condition.

The medical team stitched her private parts with 28 sutures and performed a colostomy to address the internal injuries, according to the report.
