Madhya Pradesh to Develop Places Associated with Lord Krishna
The Madhya Pradesh government will develop places associated with Lord Krishna, including Ujjain, Amjhera, and Mahidpur.
Following the announcement of plans to develop the Ram Van Gaman Path, the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh has now turned its attention to developing places in the state associated with Lord Krishna. The Ram Van Gaman Path is believed to be the route taken by Lord Rama during his exile in the forest.

Promoting Religious Tourism
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has instructed officials from the Tourism and Culture Department to prioritize the development of facilities along the Ram Van Gaman Path. Additionally, he has emphasized the need to enhance infrastructure and amenities at places visited by Lord Krishna in the state to cater to the needs of pilgrims and tourists.
Lord Krishna's Connection to Madhya Pradesh
According to the press release, Chief Minister Yadav highlighted Lord Krishna's significant connection to Madhya Pradesh. He mentioned that Lord Krishna traveled from Mathura to Ujjain and resided at Sage Sandipani's Ashram, where he acquired various arts and studied the Vedas.
Religious Sites of Importance
The Chief Minister also drew attention to the religious significance of Narayan Dham in Amjhera, Dhar district, and Mahidpur tehsil in Ujjain district. Amjhera is renowned for its ancient temples belonging to the Shaiva and Vaishnava sects and its association with Lord Krishna and Rukmani. Notably, Narayan Dham houses the only temple in the world where Lord Krishna is depicted with his friend Sudama.
Boosting Tourism and Local Economy
Chief Minister Yadav expressed his belief that improving facilities and infrastructure at these religious sites will attract more tourists and devotees. He emphasized the importance of preparing an annual calendar to organize cultural and religious activities, involving saints and seers, to enhance the spiritual experience for visitors.
Encouraging Local Craftsmanship
Furthermore, the Chief Minister suggested organizing the International Gita and Ramayana Mahotsav festival in the near future to engage the local community. He also encouraged the manufacturing of miniature statues of gods and goddesses to support the local economy and promote traditional craftsmanship.
The Madhya Pradesh government's focus on developing places associated with Lord Krishna is expected to boost religious tourism in the state, attract devotees from across the country, and contribute to the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage.
