Cong leader booked for allegedly sodomising minor
Jabalpur, Jan 12: A local Congress leader was today booked under section 377 of IPC (unnatural offences) for allegedly sodomising the eight-year-old son of his domestic help, police said.
According to police, the case was registered against Rupendra Patel (55), a former district rural president, after the domestic help approached Kotwali police station today.

"Patel, who is married, allegedly sodomised the kid half-a-dozen times in the past and also a fortnight back, which left him bleeding," Kotwali police station in-charge Praful Srivastava said quoting the complaint lodged by the minor's mother.
The woman, a local, used to bring her son to Patel's house since she was employed by him, police said. "Police today registered a case against the accused under various sections of IPC including 377, and under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act.
We have sent the victim for medical examination," Srivastava said, adding that search is on to trace Patel. Patel had unsuccessfully contested election for Panager Assembly seat in 2013 on Congress ticket.
