Madhya Pradesh Accident: 14 Dead, 21 Injured As Pickup Truck Overturns
In Madhya Pradesh's Dindori district, a tragic incident occurred resulting in the loss of at least 14 lives and injuring 21 others when a pickup vehicle overturned due to the driver's loss of control.
The incident unfolded within the jurisdiction of the Shahpura police station while the affected individuals were returning from a 'godh bharai' programme.

At approximately 1:30 am near Badjar village in Dindori district, tragedy struck as villagers from Devari village were on their way home from an event. The pickup truck they were travelling in overturned, tragically, due to the driver losing control, according to authorities. Promptly, police and other officials rushed to the scene, transporting the injured to Shahpura's community health centre for medical attention, while the deceased were sent for postmortem examination.

In response to the calamity, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced a compensation of Rs four lakh for the families of the deceased and directed the local administration to ensure proper medical treatment for the injured. Furthermore, he instructed cabinet minister Sampatiya Uikey to promptly oversee the ongoing rescue operations in Dindori.

Talking to X, formerly known as Twitter, the Chief Minister's Office wrote, Dr Mohan Yadav's heartfelt condolences over the tragic loss of lives in the vehicle accident. He extended prayers for peace to the departed souls and strength to their families in coping with the ordeal. Additionally, the Chief Minister affirmed that financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh each would be extended to the families of the injured individuals, emphasizing the importance of ensuring their proper treatment. Following the Chief Minister's directives, Cabinet Minister Smt. Sampatiya Uikey was dispatched to Dindori to coordinate rescue efforts.
