‘Love affair’ leads to violent clash in Vadodara village

Vadodara, Oct 21: An alleged love affair has sparked communal clashes between two communities in Dhaniyavi village of Vadodara district on Monday. Nine persons including four policemen have reportedly been injured in the clashes.

According to reports, the clashes broke out at 11 am on Monday morning over the alleged love affair between a girl and a boy belonging to different communities. Nearly 24 persons including the girl's father have been detained during the incident. An FIR has also been registered against 36 persons. The police have also seized 24 weapons which include swords, sticks and a 12-bore rifle, say reports.

The police said that the two communities were exchanging heated arguments for the past few days after the alleged love affair between the boy and girl came to light.

Reports said that one side was willing to compromise but girl's father was not ready for the same. This further esclated the matter leading to the clashes.Locals claimed that a similar attack took place on Sunday night in the village.
