Lost In Translation: The Hilarious Viral Moment From Brinda Karat's Speech
A hilarious translation of a line by CPM leader Brinda Karat in English at a public rally has gone viral.
In the clip, Karat is heard saying, "A former senior Congress leader K Karunakaran's daughter Padmaja has gone and joined BJP!" The translator evoked laughter after expressing her one big line with in one word to the Maliyali crowd saying "Padmaja poyi."

The crowd and the people sitting on stage too could not control their laugh over the translation. The clip also shows Karat saying that there "was no need for translation."
Responding to the video, user said, "Ha, ha,... How naive of Brinda not take the cue given by the smart translator. He was telling her to say something new and not to repeat what is already known to learned audience ))))."
The second user commented, "The translator was right every child in kerala from the age of 10 or may be less reads newspaper with his morning Chaya .They are well acquainted with political happenings and doesn't need any elaborate explanations. Even comrade #brindakarat knows that and is acknowledging that."
Adding humour to the situation, one user said, "The man knows a thing or two about reducing carbon footprint." A netizen reacted, "I love these translators from the land of @ShashiTharoor! Even RaGa gets such hilarious translators."
This incident isn't the first time Karat has found herself in such a situation. Previously, during the 2019 polls, an unidentified local CPM leader stumbled over the translation of Karat's speech, adding his own interpretation to her condemnation of a horrific incident in Perumbavoor.
Similarly, Rahul Gandhi has faced his share of embarrassing translation mishaps.
