Lok Sabha Pre Poll Predictions: How Many Seats Will BJP Win In Assam?

The Lok Poll survey has predicted that the BJP will win 7-8 seats in the northeastern state of Assam. Whereas the Congress is expected to bag 4-5 seats with others likely to emerge victorious in 2 seats.

The BJP is facing a setback in the state as it is predicted to lose a few seats and a decline in margins on the remaining ones. High anti-incumbency sentiments plague sitting BJP Members of Parliament, exacerbated by the party's heavy reliance on its beneficiary model, the survey claims.

Discontent looms among Bengali Hindus and Koch Rajbongshi communities, who remain disenchanted with the BJP's leadership.

The INC-led alliance with regional parties has bolstered its influence in Upper Assam, intensifying anti-CAA sentiments among the populace. With diverse ticket distribution encompassing prominent communities such as Ahom, Muslim, and Tea Tribes, the INC is poised to make significant gains, as per the survey.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, the BJP had won 9 seats. The Congress had won 4 seats while the AIUDF and an independent candidate won one seat each.

As per the Lok Poll predictions, the saffron party is expected to lose two seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

In 2014 polls, the BJP had secured 7 seats while the Congress and the AIUDF bagged 3 seats each.

The survey has predicted that the BJP will win 11-13 seats in Bengal while the ruling TMC is predicted to win 26-28 seats with the Congress bagging 2-4 seats. This state has 42 Lok Sabha seats.

In 2019, the BJP had won 18 while the TMC had secured 22 seats with the Congress winning the remaining seats.

The survey has claimed that the BJP will win 21-23 seats in Gujarat while the Congress is poised to win 3-5 seats. In Rajasthan, the saffron party is predicted to win 17-19 seats while the Congress is expected to win 4-6 seats.

The opinion poll has claimed that the BJP will win 21-24 seats in Maharashtra while the INDIA bloc will win 23-26 seats.
