Lok Sabha Polls Predictions: Can BJP Make Inroads In Kerala? Check This Opinion Poll Survey

In the forthcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is intensifying its efforts to secure a foothold in Kerala, often hailed as 'God's Own Country'.

According to a Mega Opinion poll conducted by News18, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is projected to open its account in the state with two seats and a vote share of 18%.

Meanwhile, the I.N.D.I.A. Bloc is expected to clinch 14 seats in Kerala, as per the findings of News18's Mega Opinion poll. On the other hand, the Left Democratic Front (LDF) and other parties are likely to secure four seats each. The I.N.D.I.A. Bloc is anticipated to garner a vote share of 47%, while the LDF and others are projected to capture 35% of the votes collectively.

In the 2019 elections in Kerala, which has 20 seats up for grabs, the Congress secured victory in 15 out of the 16 seats it contested, with its allies winning an additional four seats. The Communist Party of India (Marxist) clinched the remaining seat.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress won 8 seats with a vote share of 31.5%, while the CPM secured 5 seats with a vote share of 21.8%. The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) emerged victorious in two seats with a vote share of 4.6%.

The News18 Mega Opinion poll, set to be unveiled on March 13 and 14, covers 21 major states, which collectively account for 95% of all Lok Sabha constituencies in the country. The poll was conducted between February 12 and March 1, encompassing all Lok Sabha constituencies across 21 states, totaling 518 seats. Each constituency saw 210 interviews conducted with eligible voters.

With a sample size of over 1.18 lakh respondents across diverse demographic backgrounds, the survey stands as India's largest opinion poll to date.
