Lok Sabha Polls 2024: BJP-Led NDA Alliance To Get 2 Seats In J&K, Says India Today's Mood Of The Nation Report
In the Mood of the Nation poll by the India Today Group, a close fight was predicted in Jammu and Kashmir, with three Lok Sabha seats projected for the INDIA opposition bloc out of 5, and two for the BJP-led NDA.
In the 2019 elections, three seats each were won by the NDA and the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, which is now a part of the INDIA bloc.

Mood for Jammu and Kashmir
The February 2024 edition of the Mood of the Nation is based on a survey of 35,801 respondents across all Lok Sabha seats, conducted between December 15, 2023, and January 28, 2024. It is important to note that opinion polls can be inaccurate. The Mood of the Nation poll, conducted between December 15, 2023, and January 28, 2024, does not take into account recent political developments and changes in alliance arithmetic in the last few weeks.
The predicted vote share for Jammu and Kashmir was 49 per cent for the BJP-led NDA and 36 per cent for the INDIA opposition bloc. The 2019 elections in Jammu and Kashmir were the last held since the Centre revoked the special status granted under Article 370 in August of that year.
No seats were won by the Congress in the last polls. The NDA's poll percentage was 46.24 per cent, the JKNC's was 7.87 per cent, Congress's was 28.39 per cent, and the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party's was 3.38 per cent.
The 'Gaon Chalo Abhiyan' outreach program in Jammu and Kashmir is set to be initiated by the BJP on Thursday, which will continue until Saturday, with over 10,000 party workers aiming to collect feedback and inform people about central government schemes across rural and urban areas.
The BJP's performance report will be presented to the people by the party workers, emphasizing the importance of supporting the saffron party for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to secure a third term in office, as per the India Today survey report.
On February 3, a meeting was held by the party's General Secretary in Jammu and Kashmir, Ashok Koul, with party leaders and workers, urging them to prepare for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The latest survey conducted by Mood of the Nation, one of India's leading opinion polls known for accurately portraying voters' viewpoints on pressing topics, began airing at 12 noon today.
From 1 pm, the survey conducted in the north Indian states of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir was aired. At 2 pm, the survey will shift to Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Assam.
While a target of 370 seats for the BJP and over 400 for the NDA has been set by Prime Minister Modi, the Opposition has united on a joint platform to counter the Modi juggernaut. In the 2019 Lok Sabha election, the NDA won 351 seats, with the BJP securing 303 seats alone, while the Congress managed only 52 seats.
