Lok Sabha Opinion Poll: Will BJP Outperform Ruling Parties In Karnataka, Odisha?

A survey has predicted that the BJP is set to outperform the ruling parties in Karnataka and Odisha.

2024 Pre-Poll Survey

Survey: BJP To Win Odisha, Karnataka

The Federal-Puthiyathalaimurai-Apt 2024 Pre-Poll Survey has claimed that the BJP will come out with flying colours in Karnataka again. Out of 28 Lok Sabha seats, the saffron party, which was trounced by Congress just seven months ago in the assembly polls by the Congress, is predicted to win 26 Lok Sabha seats.

In 2019, the BJP had won 25 seats and it had backed independent candidate Sumalatha Ambareesh from Mandya Lok Sabha constituency. The survey indicates that it will get an additional seat this time and increase its vote share from 51.67 to 57.27, a six per cent rise.

Notably, the BJP has got into alliance with the JDS, this time.

In May 2023, the Congress registered a thumping victory in the assembly polls in Karnataka. It had won 135 seats. However, the grand old party has delivered its five major poll promises or guarantees and it is hoping that this will help it to perform better, this time.

The survey claims that 68 per cent of people want Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister, while 35 per cent of people want Rahul Gandhi to occupy the top seat.

Odisha Pre-Poll Survey

While the pre-poll survey report from Karnataka has not taken by surprise, the saffron party's performance, as per the predictions, might amaze many. According to the Federal survey, the BJP is gaining significant ground in BJD strongholds and is expected to dominate by winning 20 out of 21 Lok Sabha.

As far as the vote share is concerned, there is a significant decrease in BJD numbers and a shift in BJP's count. The BJP's vote share is projected to increase by at least 16 per cent, while the BJD's is anticipated to plummet by a staggering 23 per cent (from 42.80 to 19.35).

The Congress is ending at third place with zero seats but is securing nearly 10 per cent vote share.

The Congress, which is a distant third party, is predicted to have no seats (compared to one seat in 2019) despite having an impressive vote share of nearly 10 per cent.
