Lok Sabha Elections Pre-Poll Survey: BJP-TMC Locked In Neck-and-Neck Battle

West Bengal will witness a close contest between the TMC and the BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, according to the latest India TV-CNX Opinion Poll.

The BJP, which secured 18 seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, is anticipated to increase its tally to 20 seats, while the TMC, which emerged victorious with 22 seats previously, is projected to secure 21 seats this time around.

The Congress had won two seats in the last Lok Sabha polls and this time, it might win just one seat.

The poll suggests that in North Bengal, which has eight seats, the BJP is expected to dominate with a projected win of six seats, while the Trinamool Congress is expected to secure two seats. Moving to South East Bengal, encompassing twelve seats, the Trinamool Congress is projected to maintain its stronghold, securing eight seats. The BJP is likely to secure three seats, while the Congress party is expected to clinch one seat.

In Greater Kolkata, comprising five seats, the Trinamool Congress is projected to emerge victorious in four seats, with the BJP expected to secure one seat.

Lastly, in South West Bengal, which has 17 seats up for grabs, the BJP is predicted to make significant gains, projected to secure ten seats. However, the Trinamool Congress is expected to maintain its presence with a projected win of seven seats.

As the countdown to the elections continues, these projections highlight the fierce competition and the potential for significant political shifts in West Bengal. With just a few months left until polling day, all eyes will be on how these projections translate into electoral outcomes and shape the future of the state's political landscape.

As far as the vote share is concerned, TMC is expected to get 44.5 per cent, while BJP is likely to get 43 per cent followed by Left Front (5.68 per cent) and Congress (3.62 per cent). Others are predicted to secure 3 per cent of votes.
