Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Chirag Paswan's LJP(R) In Talks With INDIA Bloc: Reports

The number game is on. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance aka INDIA Bloc are trying their level best to get the backing of maximum number of political parties, leaders, and their followers ahead of the much-anticipated Lok Sabha elections 2024. With news of BJD's returning back to NDA's side after 15 years, reports suggested that Congress-led INDIA is trying to poach the Lok Jan Shakti Party (LJP).

According to the reports, Chirag Paswan's party is not happy with BJP's offer for seats for the Lok Sabha elections and is in likely talks with the Opposition. The reports said Bihar's Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) has reportedly offered 8 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar to LJP, which has nearly 6% vote bank in Bihar.

The INDIA Bloc has also reportedly offered 2 seats in Uttar Pradesh to LJP as a deal breaker.

For the unversed, a countinous conflict is going on between Lok Janshakti Party Chief and MP Chirag Paswan, and his uncle and Union Minister Pashupati Paras since the death of Ram Vilas Paswan. Both of them have also parted ways as Chirag's group added his father's name in the title making it "Lok Jan Sakti Party (Ram Vilas)", and on the other hand, Pashupati Paras named his group " Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP)"

The reports said BJP has offered a collective 6 seats to Chirag Paswan and Pashupati Paras groups, however, they have yet to be ready to accept the offer. LJP (R) is asking for 6 seats alone, while RLJP has been demanding 5 seats.

Both fronts are also demanding the Hajipur Seat, a bastion to the Late Ram Vilas Paswan. Notably, Pashupati Pawas is a sitting MP from Hajipur, while Chirag Paswan is asking for a Hajipur seat in the name of the legacy of his father.

Earlier, this week, the leader of the Opposition in Bihar, RJD's Tejashwi Yadav had dropped a hint that doors of Mahagathbandhan are open for Chirag Paswan.
