Lok Sabha Election 2024: Robert Vadra Hinting At Amethi Contest: 'Receiving Calls from...'
The possibility of contesting the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and entering politics was once again hinted at by businessman Robert Vadra, husband of Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, as uncertainty surrounds the Congress's selection for the Amethi seat.
On Monday, it was stated by Robert Vadra that he has been receiving calls from party workers across the country, including Amethi, expressing their support, which raises speculation about contesting the polls.

Robert Vadra Hints For Amethi Seat
In an interview with news agency IANS, it was mentioned by Robert Vadra that he is receiving support from party workers across the country, not just Amethi, to actively engage in politics. The emphasis on Amethi stems from his campaign efforts there since 1999.
According to Robert Vadra, posters have begun to appear in various states as people acknowledge and appreciate the party's efforts over the years, as reported by Hindustan Times.
Previously a stronghold for the Gandhi family until the last elections when Rahul Gandhi was defeated by Union minister and BJP leader Smriti Irani, Amethi now seeks to rectify the error of electing Irani in 2019, as stated by Robert Vadra.
The people of Amethi believe that if he contests from there, they will have the opportunity to correct their mistake of electing Smriti Ji. They are confident that they will ensure his victory by a significant margin if he decides to contest. However, he clarified that he is not contesting to challenge anyone, despite past unfounded allegations made against him by Smriti Ji.
Robert Vadra expressed his full support for his brother-in-law Rahul Gandhi if he decides to file his nomination from the Amethi seat, reported Hindustan Times.
He further stated, "If Rahul decides to contest from Amethi after Wayanad, I will provide him with complete support and accompany him during his campaigns. Also, I don't need to actively engage in politics to interact with the people. They know they can always meet me if Rahul or Priyanka are unavailable."
In criticizing the Narendra Modi-led central government, Vadra mentioned that the BJP has consistently attempted to destabilize governments wherever the Congress has assumed power following assembly elections, as per media reports.
According to Vadra, "When a party wins elections and people vote for that party, it should be allowed to complete its term. Whenever the Congress or any other opposition party forms a government, their leaders are either arrested, removed from Parliament, or face allegations. This type of politics is not democracy but dictatorship."
