Lok Sabha Election 2024 Phase 6: Gandhi Parivaar's 5th Generation Votes; Sonia-Rahul Click Selfie

Voting for the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha election kicked off at 7 AM on Saturday in eight states and Union Territories (UTs). This phase covers 58 constituencies across the country.

Raihan Rajiv Vadra and Miraya Vadra, the son and daughter of Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, exercised their voting rights in this phase in Delhi on Saturday, May 25.

In a video shared by news agency ANI, the brother-sister duo, both first-time voters, were spotted waiting in line at a polling booth in the national capital.

After casting their ballots, Raihan Vadra emphasised the significance of the election, urging all young people to participate. "I think this is a very important election. I urge all youth to vote to save our Constitution and to vote in a way that brings positive change," he expressed to ANI.

Miraya Vadra echoed the sentiment, calling on everyone to take part in the democratic process. "Everybody should come out and vote. Don't sit idle and make a change," she urged.

Senior leaders of the Congress party, including Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson, Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and party MP Rahul Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, also made their way to the polling booths in Delhi on Saturday morning to participate in the election process.

After exercising their franchise, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi shared a moment of camaraderie, clicking a selfie as they departed from the polling station today.

After casting her vote, Priyanka Gandhi says "There is an undercurrent and the people have this feeling that the leaders of BJP are not discussing the real issues like unemployment and inflation...INDIA alliance has been talking about the real issues of the people since the beginning..."

Supporting Priyanka Gandhi's statement Robert Vadra, her husband says, 'Everyone should come out and cast their vote and give one chance to the INDIA alliance."

The states and UTs participating in this phase are Bihar, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Delhi, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.

In Bihar, eight seats are up for grabs, while all 10 seats in Haryana are in contention. Jammu and Kashmir will see voting for one seat, Jharkhand for four seats, and Delhi for all seven seats. Additionally, six seats in Odisha, 14 in Uttar Pradesh, and eight in West Bengal are also part of this phase.

The voting is set to conclude by 6 PM. The results of the Lok Sabha election will be declared on June 4.
