Lok Sabha Election 2024 phase 3 includes polling completion in five states - Assam, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Karnataka, and Gujarat. Notably, in Surat, the BJP candidate has already won unopposed due to the rejection or withdrawal of other candidates' nominations.
Among the 93 seats, 10 are reserved for Scheduled Castes and 11 for Scheduled Tribes. In the 2019 elections, the Opposition INDIA bloc and the ruling NDA won 8 and 75 seats, respectively, with the remaining seats divided among various parties including Shiv Sena (4), NCP (3), AIUDF (1), and Independents (2). The NDA secured a vote share of 51.8%, while the INDIA bloc garnered 31.9% (excluding Shiv Sena and NCP votes, which were united at that time). In 2014, the BJP alone won 71 of these 93 seats, significantly ahead of the Congress which secured only 4 seats.

In the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections held on Tuesday, polling took place in eleven states and territories, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi's home state of Gujarat. According to Election Commission data, the provisional voter turnout is around 61.5% so far, with the highest polling recorded in BJP-ruled Assam (75.30%), despite overcast skies and light rainfall in most areas. Polling officially ended at 6 pm, but voting could extend beyond fixed hours to accommodate voters in the queue who arrived on time to cast their votes.
