Lok Sabha Election 2024: Jayant Sinha’s Son And Yashwant Sinha's Grandson Aashir Sinha Joins Congress

Amidst the high-voltage Lok Sabha election 2024, many politicians have switched sides along with their supporters which may result in big dents to political parties. On Tuesday, May 14, Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) veteran leaders and former Members of Parliament Jayant Sinha's son and Yashwant Sinha's grandson Aashir Sinha joined Congress.

Information about the latest big political development was shared by Congress' Jharkhand unit.

According to the reports, Aashir was unhappy with the BJP's decision to deny Lok Sabha ticket to his father Jayant Sinha from the Hazaribagh constituency. The saffron front has bet on BJP MLA Manish Jaiswal this time, who will face Congress' Jai Prakash Bhai Patel.

Lok Sabha Election 2024 will mark the first occasion when no member from Yashwant Sinha's family will be contesting polls. Keeping their legacy in mind and to secure the personal vote bank, Aashir Sinha decided to go against BJP and joined hands with arch-rival, Congress.

"This is why one of the family members has joined Congress to pull the traditional vote bank of Yashwant Sinha," a Congress source told the media.

"Jayant Sinha's son Aashir Sinha will be part of the Jharkhand Congress and he will be given some role. As of now, it is not decided yet," Congress spokesperson Rakesh Sinha said.

Reacting to the political uproar, BJP spokesperson Vinay Kumar said the party respects their decision and "there is no problem for BJP whoever joins Congress from Hazaribagh. BJP will emerge victorious under every circumstance."
