Loco pilot dead in goods train crash: List of trains cancelled

One loco driver died and two of his associates were injured after two goods trains collided with each other near the Singhpur railway station in Madhya Pradesh.

Reports said that the collision that took place on Wednesday was so intense that the engines of the train caught fire and the coaches overturned. The goods trains collided with each other around 10 kilometres before Shahdol on the Bilaspur to Kanti railway route. The train caught fire following the head-on collision. The accident was so severe that the engine of another train climbed on top of one engine.

The incident took place at around 6.30 am. Top railway officials visited the spot to take stock of the situation. Train services along the route have been affected due to the accident. Reduce operations were also underway.

The South East Central Railway issued a bulletin regarding the incident.
