Local TMC leader arrested in Malda

Malda (WB), Sep 18: A Trinamool Congress Panchayat Samiti leader Asadullah Biswas was today arrested from Kaliachak area in Malda district.

A senior police officer said Asadulla Biswas was arrested from Rathbari locality under Kaliachak police station area in the early hours today on charges of involvement in the arson at Kaliachak police station on January 2 this year and cultivating banned opium in the area.

Asadulla had also campaigned for the TMC candidate during the last Assembly polls. He was remanded to 13 days police custody by a local court.
