Livestream Tragedy: Wife Watches As MP Man Hangs To Death, Booked Along With Mother For Suicide Abetment
Six days after a man livestreamed his death live online, Madhya Pradesh police arrested his wife and mother-in-law on Friday for allegedly driving him to suicide, according to reports.
The 27-year-old man streamed his death on a social media platform on March 16 from his home in Mehra village, Rewa district.

He was discovered hanging in his residence after blaming his mother-in-law and wife for destroying his home in the video that captured his final moments.
Wife Watched Husband's Suicide Live, Police Claim
Following an investigation, Sirmour police traced one of the social media accounts viewing the deceased's video back to his wife. However, the 24-year-old woman insisted she hadn't watched it live, claiming she only saw it after her husband had already passed away.
Initially registering the case as an unnatural death, the police later arrested the man's wife and mother-in-law on charges of abetment of suicide.
Sirmour police station in-charge, JP Patel, told *TOI* that the deceased had worked as a priest in Wardha, Gujarat, but returned home about six months earlier after an accident left his leg injured. The couple, married for several years, had a six-month-old child and were known to argue frequently. At the time of his death, the man's wife was staying at her mother's house, Patel explained.
On the day of the incident, the man visited his mother-in-law's home to bring his wife back, but a row erupted, and he returned alone. He then went on to livestream his death.
Agra Man Blames Wife for Death in Similar Case
In a comparable incident last month, a 30-year-old man from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, reportedly took his own life after recording a video in which he accused his wife of driving him to the act. Following a complaint lodged by the deceased's father, the wife refuted the allegations, claiming her husband had been abusive, particularly when drunk.
She also said she had previously stopped him from attempting suicide. The man's video, in which he called on authorities to "think about men," went viral, igniting discussions on social media about men's mental health amid several similar cases.
