Live-In Relationship Tragedy: Delhi Man Murders Partner, Sleeps After Hiding Body

A tragic incident occurred in Delhi where a man killed his live-in partner following a heated argument about drinking. The accused, Virendra Singh, was unable to dispose of the body due to his intoxication and was subsequently arrested by the police. Authorities are currently searching for two friends who allegedly helped him.

Virendra Singh, 35, lived with the victim in Southwest Delhi's Chhawla. Their relationship ended fatally after an argument over alcohol. After killing her, Singh hid her body in his car but was too intoxicated to dispose of it. He eventually returned to his home and slept.

The victim, a 44-year-old woman, had been living with Singh for two years. A neighbour noticed the woman's body inside a parked Swift car the next morning. Assuming the couple was married, the neighbour alerted the police. Officers found her body in the car's back seat, with noticeable injuries and scratches on her face.

Police Investigation and Background

During police interrogation, Singh admitted the conflict began when his partner tried to stop him from drinking. In a rage, he killed her by throttling her with his elbow. After the incident, he called two friends to help carry her body to the car, but they left shortly after.

Singh, who is married with children, recently acquired a three-storey house in Chhawla. He purchased the house using money from selling the victim's previous home in Palam. An additional Rs 21 lakh from the sale remained with Singh, often causing disputes between them.

Following the murder, Singh attempted to drive away to dispose of the body. However, he managed to drive only 100 metres before returning home due to his intoxication. He left the body in the car, went back upstairs, continued drinking, and fell asleep.

Arrest and Search for Accomplices

Police found Singh asleep when they arrived at his residence, leading to his arrest. The search is ongoing for the two friends who allegedly assisted him in moving the body. The police aim to gather more information on their involvement in the case.
