Linking Aadhaar with mobile: Tell customers the deadline, says SC
Justice A K Sikri said, “I dont want to say it, but even I get messages.”
The Supreme Court which refused to pass an interim order staying the linking of Aadhaar with mobile also issued a stern warning to telecom companies and banks.

When you send out a message asking customers to link their Aadhaar also specify what the deadline would be, the court said. Justice A K Sikri said, "I dont want to say it, but even I get messages." This observation was made when the Centre said that no such messages were being sent.
Stop scaring the people and avoid this, the Supreme Court said. The SC on Friday also asked the Centre to direct companies to mention in their text messages, the last date for linking their mobile numbers and bank accounts with Aadhaar.
The court also pulled up banks and mobile companies for creating panic by sending customers messages saying that their accounts would be deactivated if they don't link them with Aaadhaar.
