Like UP, Modi wave sweeps across Uttarakhand
The magic of Modi worked wonders for the BJP in Uttarakhand too.
Dehradun, March 11: From Uttar Pradesh to Uttarakhand, the entire country is under the spell of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, literally. Like in UP, the Bharatiya Janata Party is all set to form the next government in the hill state. According to the latest election results, the BJP has won five seats in Uttarakhand and leading in another 51 seats. The incumbent Congress has managed to win two seats and leading in just 10 seats.
The BJP fought the entire assembly elections in Uttarakhand in the name of PM Modi. Thus the saffron party did not even declare any chief ministerial candidate before the elections. The BJP followed a similar pattern of staying away from naming anyone as the party's CM face even in UP.
In both the states, the BJP has won massively. Perhaps, till the time the saffron party has a strong and a popular leader like PM Modi, the BJP does not need any local leaders to win polls.
Moreover, the party avoided naming anyone as the CM face in Uttarakhand to avoid clashes between the state BJP leaders, say sources. While thanking the people of Uttarakhand, BJP president Amit Shah categorically gave credit to PM Modi for the massive victory of the party in the state.

Union home minister Rajnath Singh said that the victories achieved in UP and Uttarakhand are massive.
यह विजय नहीं महाविजय है. भाजपा ने उत्तर प्रदेश और उत्तराखंड में सफलता की नयी बुलंदियाँ छूकर देश की राजनीतिक तस्वीर बदल दी है.
