Winter season is knocking the doors and is all set to make onset over North India anytime soon. Moderate to dense fog was observed over Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and few places over Haryana and Manipur on Saturday. However, Delhiites may witness rainy weather activity in next 24 hours.
As per Skymet Weather, the reason for the foggy weather over the capital was due to the decline in the minimum temperatures. In most of the parts, the minimums have been settling between 10 and 14 degrees Celsius. Moreover, the wind speed is also light in nature. These are the two reasons which have resulted in the foggy occurrence in Delhi.
Meanwhile, the air quality for the last 3-4 days in Delhi has seen an improvement. Thereafter, the pollution levels are expected to start reducing.
Moreover, with the approach of a fresh Western Disturbance over the Western Himalayan region around November 13, the situation is likely to improve slightly. This Western Disturbance is expected to induce a cyclonic circulation that will result in light rains in parts of North India. Thus, the pollution levels and fog both will reduce in most parts of northwest plains.
