Lieutenant Vinay Narwal’s Wife Appeals For Peace On His Birth Anniversary After Pahalgam Attack

On the occasion of Lieutenant Vinay Narwal's birth anniversary, his wife, Himanshi, made a heartfelt appeal for peace and harmony in the wake of the tragic Pahalgam terrorist attack. Narwal, who was killed in the attack, was honored on Thursday as his family organized a blood donation camp in Karnal, Haryana, in his memory. Speaking at the event, Himanshi emphasized that while they seek justice for his death, their primary focus remains on peace. "We want peace and only peace," she said, adding that while justice for the wrongdoers is necessary, the community must unite in harmony.

The emotional event was attended by Assembly Speaker Harvinder Kalyan and Cabinet Minister Arvind Sharma, who paid their respects to the family. Lieutenant Narwal's younger sister, Srishti, expressed her deep gratitude to the individuals who came to donate blood, including a couple who flew in from Bangalore. Many others from Delhi also participated, showcasing the widespread support for the family during this difficult time.

Lieutenant Narwal, who was on his honeymoon with his wife Himanshi, was tragically shot dead in front of her during the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, which resulted in the deaths of 26 people. Narwal had been eagerly looking forward to his 27th birthday celebration, which his family had planned with joy and excitement.

In recognition of the sacrifice made by Lieutenant Narwal, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced an ex gratia payment of Rs 50 lakh and a government job for a member of his family. The job will be offered according to the wishes of Narwal's parents. Lieutenant Narwal is survived by his father Rajesh, a government employee; his mother, a homemaker; and his sister, a student.
