Liberals grow impatient with Justice Nazeer's appointment as Andhra Governor
Justice Abdul Nazeer was part of many landmark judgments, including the Triple Talaq case, the Ayodhya-Babri Masjid dispute case and demonetisation case.
New Delhi, Feb 12: Left-leaning liberals and intellectuals had a meltdown after the appointment of S. Abdul Nazeer as the Governor of Andhra Pradesh.
Justice Nazeer, who has a distinguished judicial career and is known for his integrity and impartiality was appointed as the third Governor of Andhra Pradesh.

He was part of many landmark judgments, including the Triple Talaq case, the Ayodhya-Babri Masjid dispute case and demonetisation case.
As usual, the liberals are not happy, despite him being a Muslim.
Rajdeep Sardesai, a 'journalist' with India Today, took to Twitter objection to the appointment saying the justice was not even given a cooling off period.
"Sunday musing: A month after Justice Abdul Nazeer retires, the SC judge is made Andhra governor. Shouldn't there be a minimum cooling off period of at least a year before a retired judge gets a constitutional sinecure? Note: Justice Nazeer was part of the unanimous Ayodhya judgment, tweeted Rajdeep Sardesai.
"Former SC Judge Abdul Nazeer who was in the bench that gave Babri Masjid land to those who illegally and lumpenly demolished it, is appointed Governor Of Andhra Pradesh. Oh my lord!," tweeted Prashant Bhushan.
"Justice Abdul Nazeer, who unanimously gave the verdict to construct Ram Mandir at the Babri Masjid place has been appointed as the Governor of Andhra Pradesh . Oh yes he has been rewarded ! So this is how justice is done in our beloved country. Remember Allah is watching!," tweeted Wali Rahmani.
Nevertheless, the Congress party attacked the Centre's decision to appoint former Supreme Court judge S Abdul Nazeer as the Governor of Andhra Pradesh.
Congress MP Manickam Tagore shared the news and said, " Modi work for Adani...There are who work for Modi who are now Governor's." He further asked, "Who works for people then?"
Hitting back, BJP National General Secretary B L Santhosh said, "As has become a practice nowadays Left-Cong ecosystem opposes the appointment of Justice (Rtd) Abdul Nazeer's appointment as Governor of Andhra Pradesh. His biggest sin accprding to the ecosystem is Sri Ram Janma Bhumi's judgement. Do as I say not as I do brigade in action."
