Bathinda (Punjab), Nov 25: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said black money and corruption has looted the middle class and deprived poor of their rights. Modi further said that he will ensure that middle class is not exploited and the poor get their due.

He was speaking after the laying the foundation stone for the All India Institude of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Bathinda, Punjab.

Indians must take to digital currency to overcome the ongoing cash crunch situation, Modi said,''Your mobile phone can be turned into your bank and wallet; Today's tech can help you use it for purchasing things, make online payments''.

The PM thanked people who stood along with him when he had to face hardships.

Earlier today, the Opposition slammed the demonetisation move, accusing the government of unleashing financial anarchy as people struggle to get cash more than two weeks after the surprise decision.
