LeT militant killed in Kashmir gunfight
Srinagar, April 6: A militant of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) outfit was killed by the security forces overnight in a gunfight in Pulwama district of Kashmir.
"A militant of LeT outfit identified as Bilal was killed in a gunfight with the security forces in Gadoora village on Tuesday night," a senior police official told IANS here.

"Earlier on Tuesday, security forces had cordoned off the village after specific information of presence of militants there," the official said.
"When the forces tightened the cordon, hiding militants opened fire triggering a gunfight in which one militant was killed," he said. "Searches are still going on in the area."
Protesting locals from neighbouring villages resorted to heavy stone pelting on Tuesday evening on the security forces who had cordoned off the area.
At least eight protesters were injured on Tuesday in baton charge and tear smoke shelling by the security forces in the village, the official added.
The protesters aimed at breeching the cordon laid around the site.
