Let JD(S) form govt, they have our support says Siddaramaiah
The Congress has decided to support the JD(S). They can go ahead and form the government, we will give them the support, Siddaramaiah said.
KPCC president, Dr. G Parameshwar said that they bow their heads to the verdict. We do not have the numbers and hence we have decided to support the JD(S), he also said. Senior Congress leader, Ghulam Nabi Azad said that they had a telephonic conversation with the Deve Gowda and H D Kumaraswamy and they had accepted the offer. We hope we are together, Azad also said.
The BJP which emerged as the single largest party has fallen shot of the majority mark. The party needs 112 to form the government, but as per the current scenario it is falling 5 shot. The JD(S) and Congress together have 72 and 40 seats respectively.
Sources say that the Congress would meet the Governor today and put forth the offer. Siddaramaiah too is set to tender his resignation today.
