Cyclone Lehar weakens, heavy rain expected

Hyderabad, Nov 28: Cyclone Leher, before the landfall, has reduced to a depression, confirm weather experts.

To the relief of coastal Andhra, Leher is likely to be a relatively less destructive cyclonic storm of speed between 40 to 60 kmph.

However, district authorities are prepared to face any kind of situation, say sources.

Ahead of heavy rains, 30 National Disaster Response Force teams and six columns of the Army have been called in to assist in the rescue.

Fishing operations have been suspended and around 30000 people have been evacuated from the coastal areas, reported sources.
