‘Legacy Can Be Destroyed From Within’: Rohini Acharya’s Post Fuels Family, Party Rift

Rohini Acharya has triggered intense debate within Bihar's political circles after posting a series of blunt and emotional messages on social media that many see as a veiled criticism of her brother, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav. Without taking names, she suggested that the downfall of a respected political legacy often begins from within, driven by ego, flawed advice and an unwillingness to listen.

In her Facebook post, Rohini expressed anguish over what she described as attempts by those benefiting from a legacy to erase its very essence. She cautioned that when arrogance overrides judgment, individuals lose the ability to distinguish between right and wrong, allowing destructive thinking to take control.

Her remarks come at a time when the Rashtriya Janata Dal is reeling from a crushing defeat in the Bihar Assembly elections. The party managed only 25 seats, while the NDA swept the polls with an overwhelming majority. The poor showing of RJD's allies further deepened questions over leadership and strategy.

Soon after the election results, Rohini announced that she was stepping away from politics altogether and breaking ties with her family. In a series of emotional statements, she alleged that she was verbally abused, humiliated and physically threatened by Tejashwi Yadav and his close associate, RJD MP Sanjay Yadav, after raising concerns about the party's performance.

Rohini also claimed she was insulted over her decision to donate a kidney to her father, alleging that family members questioned her motives and accused her of seeking political benefit. She described being forced to leave her home and parents behind, saying she was stripped of dignity and identity.

Later, speaking to the media, Rohini said her decision was carefully considered. She accused the RJD leadership of refusing to accept responsibility for the electoral setback and silencing dissenting voices, exposing what appears to be a deep and painful rift within the party's first family.
