Lawyer among 3 arrested in Punjab for helping Amritpal flee police
Three men, including a lawyer, have been arrested for allegedly extending help to radical Sikh preacher Amritpal Singh, who has been on the run since March 18.
The arrested men are reportedly from Jalandhar district and one belongs to Hoshiarpur's Babak village. They were produced before the duty Magistrate on Friday night and sent to police custody for a day.

Punjab Police has launched a massive manhunt for Amritpal Singh and members of his 'Waris Punjab De' outfit last month. He was under the radar for a long, but hogged limelight after his supporters attacked the Ajnala police station.
Amritpal and his aide-mentor Papalpreet Singh escaped the police's net in Jalandhar district on March 18, switching vehicles and changing his appearance.
Amritpal, who gained a bit of traction in Punjab, is reportedly looking to get out of the country. He wants to run the movement from abroad. Meanwhile, his postures have come up in the Rupaidiha town on the Indo-Nepal border.
This development comes amid intelligence inputs that suggested that Amritpal is trying to flee the country through the Nepal border. He is planning to enter Uttar Pradesh before fleeing to Nepal, according to reports. His last known location is traced to the national capital Delhi.
On April 10, cops arrested Papalpreet from Punjab's Hoshiarpur. According to the police, Papalpreet, who mentored Amritpal, has allegedly been in contact with Pakistan's ISI.
Ever since Amritpal escaped, police have booked his aides under several criminal cases related to spreading disharmony among classes, attempt to murder, attack on police personnel and creating obstructions in the lawful discharge of duty by public servants.
