Lashkar-e-Tayiba will attempt hostage taking in Kashmir
Srinagar, Feb 24: There have been a spate of attacks in Jammu and Kashmir in the recent past as a result of which precious lives of soldiers have been lost. A majority of these recent attacks including the one in Pampore have been attributed to the Lashkar-e-Tayiba.
There was a lull in the operations of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba last year and this was because of the killing of their operations chief Abu Qasim. However, today with a new chief in place, the outfit has decided to carry out a spate of attacks in a bid to challenge the Indian establishment in Kashmir.

New plan in place:
Intelligence Bureau officials in Kashmir say that going by the pattern of the attacks, it is clear that the Lashkar-e-Tayiba is trying to regain ground that it had lost last year.
Moreover, today the Lashkar-e-Tayiba carries out its operations with the help of the Jaish-e-Mohammad. A message from the Jaish-e-Mohammad praising the Lashkar-e-Tayiba for the recent attacks is a signal of the new found love between the two terrorist organisations.
The IB says that the Lashkar-e-Tayiba will continue to try and strike. They will attempt to keep the momentum high as the establishment in Pakistan has decided to rake up the Kashmir issue yet again in a big way. With chants of Afzal Guru in every strike, they are also stirring up passions in the Valley, IB officials also say.
IB officials warn that in the future, the Lashkar-e-Tayiba will try and enact a hostage crisis. They are looking out for hotels and hostels which they can take over and hold people hostage.
