Land acquisition case: HC notice to RIL, Mukesh Ambani

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court has issued notices to Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) and its chairman Mukesh Ambani in connection with a land acquisition case in Godavari district.

The petition was filed by a woman urging the court to quash the orders passed by the special judicial first class magistrate in Kakinada.

The petitioner alleged that RIL through fraudulent methods, took over her land in Tallarevu. A lower court had earlier decreed in her favour.

She urged the court to quash the order of the lower court and direct it to take cognizance of the case against RIL and its chairman.

The judge, adjourning the case, issued notices to the respondents directing them to respond to the plea.
