Lance Naik Hanumanthappa’s condition deteriorates: Army

New Delhi, Feb 10: Indian Army said on Wednesday Lance Naik Hanumanthappa Koppad, 19 Madras Regiment, continues to be in comatose condition.

While giving out the health update of the soldier, Army said that Lance Naik Hanamanthappa's condition was reviewed by team of doctors at the Army Hospital (R&R).

"This team comprised of Critical Care specialists, HoD Dept of Medicine, Senior Nephrologist and Senior Neurologist and a panel of experts from AIIMS New Delhi," says an Army Spokesperson.

According to the bulleting, the team was in agreement with the management that the patient had undergone till now, and concurred with the future plan of management for him.

Army says the soldier continues to remain extremely critical with evidence of oxygen deprivation to the brain on CT scan.

"There is evidence of pneumonia in both lungs. His multi-organ dysfunction state continues unabated. His condition has deteriorated despite aggressive therapy and supportive care," says the spokesperson.

Army had told yesterday that Lance Naik Hanumanthappa is expected to have a stormy course in the 48 hours ‘due to the complications caused by re warming and establishment of blood flow to the cold parts of the body.'
